Soccer Season

Kevin did an awesome job on the 9th grade soccer team this year.  They had a great season, losing only two games.  Kevin played a tough center defender.
Go Rams!

Happy Birthday, Kevin!

Kevin is 15!  I can't believe that our cute little Kevvy is so grown up.  He is within about a half inch of Scott now with no end in sight.  He must have inherited his hands from Grandpa L and his feet from Dad.  Scott doesn't have a problem with the fact that Kevin will soon be bigger than him because he can still "thump" him.  The two of them are actually really good friends despite being three years apart.
We are very proud of Kevin and all the things he is busy doing is his life.

Scott's First Baptism

Scott had his first official baptism today.  Auggie G., the amazing goalie from the OHS soccer team, was baptized today by Scott.  It was a great day.  It all started about a month ago when the soccer team had a party at my house.  About 9 of them ended up sleeping over and when I woke them up bright and early so they could go to the 3v3 fundraiser tournament they were in charge of, they told me they had only slept about an hour, but it was okay, because they were "talking about Jesus."  Well, apparently what they were doing was answering all of Auggie's questions (and more) about the church.  Scott thought he was a little overwhelmed after that, but on Monday, Auggie asked him for a Book of Mormon, and soon he was taking the missionary discussions.  He knew from the beginning that he wanted to be baptized.  He is a great young man, and it has been a (nother) great experience for Scott and the other boys on the team who went through the discussions with him.  I'm so grateful for the missionary experiences that Scott has had the last two years through his associations with the soccer team.

Another Year in the Books

Moving out of Apartment 23! Camille had a good year, but I think she's ready to come home for the summer.  She's a week early because all her classes had in-class finals, so she can come home before finals week.  We was like putting a puzzle together to fit all her things into our cars, but we did it.  It feels good to have her home!

Spring Break

Over Spring Break Scott wanted to go to the cabin with a few friends.  He was sure that he could handle being responsible for opening the cabin up and taking care of things by himself.  When John, Matt, and I got there the next day, the place was spotless.  Scott had laid down the law.  Everyone had a good time riding the 4-wheelers and seeing the wildlife.  A couple of his friends had never seen moose before.

Early Morning Goodbye

It's finally time to say goodbye for real.  After their short time in the MTC, Grandma and Grandpa were able to come home for a few days, then it was time to fly off to Sweden!  I stayed overnight at their house and helped them with some last minute final house-keeping, then took them to the airport bright and early.  Well, dark and early -we left at 4am!  Their flights went smoothly and soon we got an email that they were safe and sound in Sweden.  Another 18 months begins.  We will miss them but we look forward to their email and skyping with them each week.  I'm so grateful for the internet!

General Conference

Camille, Scott, Kevin and I were able to attend the Saturday afternoon session of General Conference in the Conference Center.  The kids had never been before, and it was a very sweet experience to be there.  I had attended there once before (to the very first Conference in the new Conference center, actually, with my sisters-in-law) and a couple of times to the YW and RS General meetings and my favorite part is always when the prophet enters and a hush falls over the crowd and everyone stands.  It is so wonderful to be in his presence with so many others who feel the same respect and love.
